You can save in GTA V with cheat codes enabled, but achievements are temporarily disabled. Rockstar explains these saving and reset rules for GTA V. Use the instructions for the game you are actually playing; San Andreas has different save warnings.

Saving and Achievements
Saving remains available; the documented restriction concerns achievements. Keeping a separate clean save before experimenting is a practical way to preserve a point you can return to. Before attempting an achievement challenge, reset the cheat state using Rockstar’s instructions.
Cheat Availability and Resetting
Re-entering the same code usually disables the cheat, but this is not guaranteed for every code. Some cheats may become temporarily unavailable and display a denied message. Starting a mission automatically disables off-mission cheats. Rockstar gives reloading a save or rebooting the console as ways to reset all cheats. Re-entering a code should not be treated as a universal reset method.
Before, During, and After Checklist
- Before: Create a clean save without cheats active. This is your recovery point.
- During: Keep track of active codes and unavailable-code messages. A denied code may be temporarily unavailable in that part of the game.
- After: Reload a save or reboot the console to reset the cheats. Do not assume every code turns off when entered twice.
Use the right kind of instructions
An in-game code guide and instructions for external modification software are different things. The reset steps above do not require downloading a trainer or changing a console’s firmware. A download promising every mission, vehicle or unlimited money is not evidence that those are built-in GTA V code effects.
Use the GTA V Story Mode overview to identify the campaign context. For the original PS2 game, use our San Andreas code examples and save warnings. Keep the two games’ rules separate when choosing a guide.
