GTA 6: Confirmed Setting, Characters and Platforms

Rockstar’s official Grand Theft Auto VI page, checked on 17 October 2026 (UTC), lists a planned 19 November 2026 release for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Its story summary follows Jason and Lucia in Leonida, with Vice City among the featured locations. These are announced details, rather than a review of a released copy.

Where is GTA 6 set, and who is in the story?

The official description identifies Vice City and the surrounding state of Leonida. It introduces Jason and Lucia as central characters caught in a criminal conspiracy. That supports the setting and character names; it does not establish every mission, playable activity or technical feature suggested in fan discussions.

Use the official page’s trailers and character material to explore what Rockstar has actually shown. A trailer can introduce a location or character without establishing an exact map size, a performance benchmark or how a feature will work in every edition.

Which platforms and release date are announced?

The checked page names PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. It does not supply a PC release date or PC system requirements. This is a limit of the information checked, rather than a prediction that a PC version will never exist. Our GTA 6 PC information guide separates that uncertainty from unsupported specification lists.

Rockstar’s dated launch update gives the November date. For the sequence of earlier announcements, see our GTA 6 release-date guide. A scheduled release remains a plan; recheck the official listing before relying on an older article.

How to check a new GTA 6 claim

  • Find the original Rockstar page or announcement and read its date.
  • Match the exact game, platform and edition when comparing information.
  • Distinguish official footage from a review, a fan prediction or an unverified download offer.

Correction: the previous May 2026 date was superseded. Unsupported setting, pricing and technical predictions in the earlier version have been removed.
