Why older articles say May 26
Rockstar’s May 2, 2025 announcement named May 26, 2026. Its November 6, 2025 announcement moved the schedule to November 19, 2026, explaining that it needed additional time to polish the game. The May announcement remains useful historical context, but it should not be presented as the current schedule.
Check the platform before making plans
A date attached to a console launch does not establish a PC release date. For the separate evidence and requirements question, read our GTA 6 PC status guide. Avoid treating a predicted port date as part of Rockstar’s announcement.
How to verify a later update
- Start with the official game page linked above and check that it names Grand Theft Auto VI, rather than another GTA edition.
- Read the date of any Newswire announcement you find. An older page can still be authentic while containing a superseded target.
- Match the platform in the announcement to the edition you intend to play. Keep a console schedule separate from any future PC information.
- Recheck official information before committing to time off or a purchase. This page records the schedule we reviewed; it cannot guarantee that the schedule will remain unchanged.
